The LRC is computerized with Library Manager 6.5.7, a Library Management System, developed by Sawan Soft. Inc. Rajasthan. Currently, we have accessioned 3159 books in various subjects areas like Information Technology, Analytical and Quantitative Methods, Management, Personality Development, English Communication Skills, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Sociology, Fiction etc. and a good collection of Competitive Examination Guides for various entrance examinations are also included in the reference section of the Library. Our collection also comprises good reference books such as Dictionaries, Britannica Ready Reference Encyclopaedia, Fact Finders, Thesauruses, Yearbooks etc. Our Digital collection includes 65 Reference materials (both CD and DVDs). Presently we are subscribing to 25 journals/periodicals and 7 Newspapers. We are also subscribing a Employment newspaper. We have acquired an English Communication Development Package called Linguaphone (includes 16 Course Books, 16 CDs, 16 Audio Cassettes, 2 Video Cassettes and a bilingual Dictionary), which are very useful material for improving the English communication skill of our students.
ServicesThe Computer Centre is the central facility, which controls the computing requirements in CREST. It has more than 90 client machines and two servers. Client systems are desktops and laptops. Desktops are DELL OPTIPLEX 9020, 380 and 360 series which are of adequate performance. Apple Mac Book Pro, DELL LATITUDE 3460, VOSTRO 1520 are the major laptops used. There are two servers in the centre, which are DELL PowerEdge 1950 which has a dual Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5450 series and an HP server.
The latest operating systems such as Windows 10, Windows 8.1, windows 7, Windows 2008 Server and LINUX have been established at center to make students familiar with latest operating systems. Microsoft Office suite 2007 is used for various office automation applications. Tally ERP 9 is used for accounting purpose. Application software like Visual Studio, Adobe Acrobat Professional 9, Dreamweaver, flash, etc has been available for students in the IT lab computers.
There are more than 40 High End personal computers connected over the center LAN under some of the latest Network Operating Systems running on some of the latest high-end Dual Xeon based Rack Server. The center Wi-Fi provides mobility to the users in accessing various services.
Network printing facility is available on a wide variety of printers such as Inkjet and Laser Printers. These printers can be accessed from anywhere in the center. Other equipment available in the centre includes Notebooks, CD/DVD Writers, High quality Scanners, Fax machines, LCD/DLP Projectors and interactive white boards.
For Internet access, 50 Mbps bandwidth is available for the users. A dedicated 50 Mbps FTTH BSNL line provides the internet connectivity. Hardware firewall DLink DFL-800 is used to controls incoming and outgoing network traffic.
CREST has a domain crest.ac.in, which is hosted in an external Web server. The website provides the details about various courses, research project, newsletters, announcements etc. It supports online registration facility for PGCCPD and Engineering orientation course.
