PROGRAMME FACULTY

Our faculty comprises of academics with deep social commitment and a flair for public action. Faculty members are accomplished and diverse coming from a variety of educational backgrounds and possessing wide range of professional experiences. They are scholars, consummate educators, mentors and trainers involved also in researches. Faculty are actively engaged in teaching, practice and research in various fields and are committed to cross-disciplinary efforts within the Centre to instil a positive identity among students hailing from marginalized communities in Kerala Instead of ‘Departments’ CREST has ‘Resource Groups’ which will encompass broad areas of academic concerns impinging on the objectives of the organization Each group has a combination of different, but related subject specializations. The Centre has five resource groups covering Information Technology, Languages & Communication. Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences. and Entrepreneurship Development.

• Vinod Krishnan T.Y, Executive Director-Incharge, : Holds Masters Degree in Anthropology from the University of Mysore. He undertook research studies at University of Delhi and Roskilde University, Denmark. He has been an ASIA Fellow attached to the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

• Ms. Sucharitha Hota Post graduate in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Science, Bombay. She is a consultant in the field of qualitative social research and was involved in projects for UNICEF, World Bank, Overseas Development Agency and Government of India. Ms. Hota has wide ranging interest in areas like maternal and child health, rural rehabilitation, education and gender. She is a faculty in Social Work at St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri, Kozhikode.

• Mr. A.R Vinod is an HR trainer based in Calicut. He is a Zonal trainer of Junior Chamber International. He has been providing Human Resource training for academic institutions and corporate organizations in Kerala. • Ms.Swarnalatha K: M.A. in English. She retired from government service as Chief Tutor, District Centre for English, Government Teachers’ Training Institute, Calicut. She is a committed and innovative teacher-facilitator and has been contributing to several training programmes for English teachers in the state.

• Prof. Radha S. Nair: Completed M.A.English from Presidency College, Chennai and Diploma in English Language from CIEFL, Hyderabad. Formerly Head of the Department of English, Providence College, Calicut, Prof Radha Nair’s special areas of interest are phonetics and spoken English. She has been a dedicated academic counselor/mentor for generations of English language students.

• Dr. Anitha Ramesh:. Retired as Associate Professor in the P.G. Department of English, Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, Calicut. She is a teacher with 30 years’ experience and has completed her Ph D from Calicut University. Her dissertation is a critical appreciation of the literary works of Doris Lessing, Nobel Laureate. She has presented papers in several National Seminars/Workshops. She has scripted plays for school children, has organized cultural/theatre events and she is deeply interested in reading, music and creative writing.

Mr.Anil Menon. Genearl Manager (Training) SB Global has worked in sales and marketing functions of companies in India and abroad for over 23 years and turned his focus to training – an area he is passionate about. He has done training programmes for many well established organizations in and out of India including IIT, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, NITs etc.

Mr.Balachandran Gopinath Certification Commissioner and International Training Fellow for JCI University, U.S.A Is a highly effective H.R.D. Consultant and international trainer with over 21 years of experience. He held senior positions in Marketing in Multinational Corporations for over 14 years. He has conducted over 4000 programs all around the world for clients of all ranges.

Prof. M N Karassery is a Professor of Malayalam at the University of Calicut, Kerala, India. He is a prolific writer and well known orator. Moreover, he is a human rights activist who deeply believes in Secular Democracy.

Dr. Rajeevan Karal is an accomplished and highly experienced teacher, teacher trainer and content developer, with over forty years experience in teaching English at all levels. A major part of his career was spent at the Central institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL), Hyderabad, India (later renamed as EFL University, Hyderabad).

Ramesh Chandran has more than twenty years of corporate experience covering a variety of functions across the three continents of US, Europe and Asia. He was formerly General Manager, AEGON Asset Management (AAM), based in The Hague in The Netherlands. Currently he is settled in Coimbatore and is working in the area of Social Entrepreneurship.

Mr .Arun P T was in the Indian Postal Service and cofounder of DOOR Centre for Civil Services in Chennai. At present he works in the Trivandrum Campus of Pala Civil service Institute training students on cracking the Civil Service Exam.

Ms.Remya Roshni was in the Indian Police Service (IPS), Manipur Cadre. She is a postgraduate in Sociology from the University of Mysore. She along with Mr. Arun P T established DOOR Centre for Civil Services. At present she works in the Trivandrum Campus of Pala Civil service Institute training the students who prepare for their Civil Service exams.

Ms Suma Aswini Kumar an external consultant in training department with UST Global, a Multi National Company in Technopark, Trivandrum. An expert in taking assessments of fresher’s joining the MNC.
